Gaza Civil Defense: 10,000 dead under the rubble as catastrophe worse than expected

The spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip said the Israeli occupation has completely destroyed the infrastructure and wiped out all means of life in the Strip during the months-long ongoing assault.

He stressed the need to provide safe corridors to bring in all humanitarian supplies without restrictions, saying the situation urgently requires the entry of heavy equipment to clear rubble and recover the bodies of those killed.

The spokesman said estimates indicate some 10,000 people are still under the rubble, noting that “the world will be surprised by the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe that will be revealed after the debris is cleared and the war ends.”
