Israeli writer says opening Gaza to foreign media will expose atrocities Israel tried to hide

The “Israeli” writer Roee Shafets said that allowing foreign press into the Gaza Strip will expose to the world what Israel tried to hide throughout the war, noting that journalists will roam freely through the destroyed neighborhoods, see stories buried under the rubble, and may uncover atrocities not yet revealed.

He added that what cameras and facts on the ground document will shake global public opinion and overturn the image Israel is trying to sell, pointing out that any Israeli propaganda will not withstand the scenes that come to light.

Shafets said the moment Palestinians begin burying the martyrs and rebuilding what remains of their lives will be the moment the truth starts to emerge, stressing that “the only path to healing runs through acknowledging what was done in our name, because denying the catastrophe does not erase it, but deepens its presence in the conscience of the world.”
