Brutal assault on Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti leaves him unconscious and with four broken ribs

Sources inside Israeli prisons said Palestinian prisoner and leader Marwan Barghouti lost consciousness after being subjected to a violent physical assault by prison security forces inside his cell, resulting in four broken ribs and injuries to various parts of his body.

The sources said the assault is part of a systematic campaign of harassment and tightening measures targeting prisoners, particularly leaders among them, in an effort to break their will and undermine their resilience inside the detention facilities, amid urgent calls for intervention by international human rights organizations to protect prisoners and stop the escalating violations against them.
