Delyani: Gaza’s children face silent genocide after ceasefire

Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

Dmitri Delyani, a member of the Revolutionary Council and spokesman for Fatah’s Democratic Reform Current, said the “genocide” being carried out by the Israeli occupation against our people did not stop with the ceasefire but has entered a new phase through continued siege and starvation, adding that “genocide in its current form is being employed as a tool to maintain colonial control over our land.” He said the relative calm following the ceasefire agreement does not negate the ongoing crimes being committed by what he called the “Israeli genocidal state” against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli occupation continues its deadly blockade.

The Fatah leader said more than 55,000 Palestinian children under the age of six are suffering from severe malnutrition as a result of the ongoing siege imposed by what he described as the “Israeli genocidal state,” while hospitals are operating without fuel, surgeries are being performed without anesthesia, and families are forced to drink contaminated water to survive. He added that daily scenes in Gaza after the ceasefire reveal the scale of the tragedy the “Israeli army of extermination” continues to produce, saying civilians are being targeted through starvation, disease and deprivation, attempts to return to areas from which the “army of extermination” redeployed are being obstructed, and hundreds of thousands remain internally displaced.

The spokesman for Fatah’s Democratic Reform Current said the continuation of this genocidal siege is a humanitarian and political crime aimed at emptying the Strip of its residents, calling on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibility to halt the ongoing Israeli genocide and to save children from the clutches of starvation and disease. He concluded that freeing the Palestinian people from this siege is the beginning of any process of stability in the region, and that stopping the continuing Israeli crimes of genocide in Gaza is a national and humanitarian duty that must not be compromised.
