Despite repeatedly attacking Trump, Biden praises his role in stopping the war in Gaza

Former US President Joe Biden praised Donald Trump and his administration for their role in efforts to halt the Gaza war and return Israeli captives to Tel Aviv, saying this as Trump continues at every opportunity to attack Biden and describe his administration as the worst in America’s history — most recently during his speech to the Israeli Knesset yesterday.

Biden said: “I feel deep gratitude and great relief that this day has come, for the last twenty hostages still alive who endured an unimaginable hell, who finally met their families and loved ones, and for civilians in Gaza who have suffered heavy losses, who will finally have a chance to rebuild their lives.”

He added: “The road to this agreement was not easy. My administration worked tirelessly to bring the hostages home, provide relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war. I commend President Trump and his team for their efforts to reach a renewed ceasefire agreement.”

He continued: “Now, with the support of the United States and the world, the Middle East is on a path to peace that I hope will last, and a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike that enjoys an equal measure of peace, dignity and security.”
