Gaza Government Media Office: Prioritize travel for patients and wounded; calls for immediate opening of crossings
Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

The Gaza Government Media Office said on Wednesday that travel priority at the Rafah crossing, when it opens, will be given to patients and the wounded who require treatment abroad.
In press statements, the office called on the occupying power to open the crossings and immediately allow aid in, saying Gaza residents are suffering from water shortages and difficulty accessing water due to the destruction of infrastructure during the war.
The office also urged the U.S. administration to pressure the occupying power to open the crossings, noting that the suffering Gaza residents endured over two years will continue after the end of the war because of the ongoing blockade.
It said there are about a quarter of a million tons of waste in the Strip, constituting an environmental disaster that threatens public health, and stressed the need for heavy machinery to deal with the waste after many such machines were destroyed during the war.
The office stressed the urgent need to bring in medicine and medical supplies to meet the needs of hospitals and health centers in the Strip.
It also called for speeding up the opening of crossings and the entry of essential medical supplies that the occupying power has been blocking for weeks.
The Government Media Office said the occupying power has killed 190 staff members, university professors and teachers, and destroyed more than 800 kilometres of roads across different areas of the Gaza Strip.
