Gaza health ministry says no improvement in health situation after ceasefire

Dr. Mohammad Abu Salmiya, director of the Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip, said the health situation in the territory has not seen any significant improvement since the ceasefire, either in medical services or in the availability of medicines and basic supplies.
In remarks to the press, Abu Salmiya said the situation remains tragic, noting that hospitals and medical centers face a severe shortfall in capacity and medical staff, which hampers the delivery of necessary health care to residents.
He added that recently released detainees require specialized medical care because of the abuses and torture they suffered while in detention, and called on international and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to provide the medical and pharmaceutical support Gaza needs.
