Photos: International Committee of the Red Cross monitors searches for bodies of Israeli captives in southern Gaza amid severe equipment shortages

A delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross conducted a field tour to inspect the progress of searches for the bodies of Israeli captives in the southern areas of the Gaza Strip, which were heavily damaged during the recent offensive.

According to field sources, search teams are suffering a severe shortage of heavy equipment needed to remove rubble, amid the Israeli army’s continued refusal to allow such equipment into the Gaza Strip, which is hindering progress in search and recovery operations.

The Red Cross had earlier called for easing the work of rescue and search teams and for ensuring that the necessary supplies are allowed in to carry out their humanitarian tasks safely and swiftly.
