U.S. Central Command urges Hamas to hand over its weapons and not kill collaborators

U.S. Central Command commander, Admiral Brad Cooper, called on Hamas to “stop the violence immediately” and “cease targeting Palestinian civilians in Gaza,” he said.

Cooper said “this is a historic opportunity for peace, and Hamas must seize it by halting all fighting, strictly adhering to the 20-point peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, and disarming without delay.”

He added that the United States has conveyed its concerns to mediators who have agreed to work with it to implement the peace agreement and ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

He concluded, “We are very optimistic about the future of peace in the region.”
