UN: Aid is no substitute for peace, Gaza’s humanitarian situation remains catastrophic
Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

The spokeswoman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza said the humanitarian crisis in the Strip persists despite the cessation of fighting, noting that aid alone cannot substitute for achieving a lasting peace.
She said, “Needs in Gaza remain enormous, and the recent agreement ended the fighting but did not end the suffering of the population,” stressing that access to some besieged areas still poses a major challenge, adding: “We are currently working to deliver supplies to areas we have not been able to reach for months.”
The spokeswoman called for urgent and sustained international action to ensure the basic needs of civilians are met, alongside addressing the root causes of the crisis and stopping ongoing violations against the Strip’s residents.
