Qatar’s Prime Minister Arrives in Cairo as Hamas Reviews Egyptian Ceasefire Proposal

Hamas is expected to announce its position today on the new ceasefire proposal and the prisoner exchange settlement.

In a related development, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with the head of Egyptian intelligence to discuss Israel’s stance on the new Egyptian deal.

According to a Saudi report, Hamas is scheduled to hold a meeting in Cairo to discuss the new Egyptian ceasefire document. Palestinian factions confirmed their preliminary agreement to the proposal, while Hamas requested time to consult before issuing a final response.

Reports indicate that Hamas received a ceasefire offer last night from Egypt and Qatar in the presence of representatives of the Palestinian factions, and was asked to provide a response within a few hours.
