Prisoners’ media: Leader Ahmad Saadat faces serious health problems in Israeli prisons

شبكة الخامسة للأنباء - غزة

The Prisoners’ Media Office said that detained leader Ahmad Saadat, 72, the general secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, is suffering a serious deterioration in his health while in isolation at Megiddo prison, as a result of what it described as deliberate medical neglect, starvation and torture.

The office said Saadat has lost a large amount of weight and was recently subjected to a violent physical assault to his back, after which he was left in the “al‑Foura” yard for three hours without any medical intervention, a flagrant violation of his human rights.

The office said the treatment of Saadat amounts to a direct targeting of his political and national symbolism through systematic measures of isolation, repression and neglect, warned of the severity of his condition and held the occupation authorities fully responsible for his life and safety.
