The Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip entered its 728th day, amid a bloody escalation that left dozens dead and wounded across the territory, while air strikes and artillery bombardment continued since dawn.
Medical sources said more than 65 people were killed since Wednesday morning, including 19 in Gaza City, 17 in the central area, and 29 in the southern part of the Strip, in addition to hundreds wounded.
Gaza and the North
Israeli forces launched heavy bombardment targeting residential neighborhoods, detonating five booby-trapped military vehicles in the al-Nafaq and Sheikh Radwan areas, which destroyed homes. Drones also dropped incendiary bombs on houses in the al-Sahaba area in the city centre.
Tanks advanced toward the Shati refugee camp and the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital before withdrawing after vehicle-borne explosives were detonated.
Central Gaza
Four displaced people were killed and others wounded in a strike that hit a tent near the desalination facility on Al-Baraka Street south of Deir al-Balah.
Doctors Without Borders said one of its staff was killed and four others were seriously injured when a bus carrying them to a field hospital in Deir al-Balah was struck, saying the team was wearing medical vests bearing the organisation’s logo.
Also, young man Abdullah al-Shibli died of the serious wounds he sustained months ago when a strike hit his home north of Nuseirat camp.
Southern Gaza
Israeli aircraft carried out separate strikes from drones on vehicles in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, causing fatalities and injuries. A civilian was also killed and others wounded in a similar strike southwest of the city.
Various areas of Khan Younis witnessed air and artillery strikes and house demolitions throughout the night.
