Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa said Gaza is an integral part of the sovereign State of Palestine and will remain so forever, stressing that a two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace, security and stability in the Middle East.

He made the remarks in his speech to the Munich Security Conference being held in the city of AlUla in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, via video link.

He added: Last week’s New York Declaration clearly mapped the path capable of achieving this goal. It is our essential duty to continue our diligent work to ensure we do not deviate from this course. In this context, I again thank the 159 countries that have so far recognized the State of Palestine, with special thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France for their outstanding leadership that made the New York Declaration a tangible reality.

The prime minister continued: Much has been accomplished to date, but there is still more for us to do. Yes, we have taken important steps, but the road remains long, and the hard work ahead of us must be done together.

He welcomed efforts to stop the war on Gaza, end the famine created by the Israeli occupation, and halt the forcible displacement of our people — urgent, long‑awaited measures that no one should obstruct.

He affirmed readiness to work with the United States and with our regional and international partners in the coming days and weeks, asking: How do we reconcile the principles of a ceasefire in Gaza and the proposed interim arrangements with what is stipulated in the New York Declaration?

He stressed that it must be remembered any transitional arrangements will not achieve their objectives if they ignore the following fundamental truth: Gaza and the West Bank are one unit, united by one people, one Basic Law, one population registry, one passport, one land registry, one companies law, one tax system, one banking system, one health and education system, and one customs regime — and above all they share one goal: freedom and independence.

The prime minister said the existence of a strong Palestinian Authority is the best way to ensure the success of post‑war arrangements in Gaza and to implement the roadmap toward a two‑state solution. We are ready to do our part and are committed to implementing the reforms we have announced, but we cannot do this alone; we need your support and assistance.

The Munich Security Conference convened in the city of AlUla in northwest Saudi Arabia yesterday, with the participation of more than 70 senior international figures.

The meetings address issues including global trade and regional crises, the security of maritime trade routes, efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, nuclear security, and enhancing regional and international cooperation on energy and economic matters and the energy transition.
