Israel draws “yellow line” to swallow half of the Gaza Strip

Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

At the direction of Israel’s war minister, Yisrael Katz, the Israeli military has decided to begin marking what it calls the “yellow line,” which stretches across an area exceeding 50% of the Gaza Strip, with the aim of separating that area and turning it into a closed security and military zone.

Under the decision, continuous physical markings will be placed along this line, which Katz described as the “security–political separation line,” accompanied by strict warnings to Palestinian residents not to approach or cross the line, under threat of immediate military response.

Israel says the measure is intended to clearly demarcate the field boundaries along which the military operates inside the Strip, a step that raises concerns it could create a new on-the-ground reality and a de facto geographic division of the territory.
