The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has called on the international community to take firm and tangible measures to stop the Israeli occupation’s war on the Palestinian state, warning of the dangers posed by plans to complete the invasion of the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement issued today, Tuesday, the ministry expressed grave concern over the Israeli army’s approval of plans to re-occupy the entire historic city of Gaza, which threatens to impose a new forced displacement of more than 900,000 citizens toward the southern part of the Strip, and the destruction of what remains of neighborhoods, homes, and establishments in the city.
The ministry affirmed that the implementation of this plan once again reveals the true nature of the occupation’s war on the Palestinian state, its territorial unity, its people, and the legitimacy of its institutions, targeting Palestinian civilians with the aim of forcibly displacing them after transforming the Gaza Strip into an uninhabitable land.
It praised the Egyptian, Qatari, and American efforts exerted to reach a permanent ceasefire that prevents the execution of the occupation’s plans, ensures the protection of civilians, and allows the sustainable and wide-scale entry of relief aid, paving the way for the start of the reconstruction process, the return of the Strip under the control of the legitimate institutions of the State of Palestine, the implementation of the New York Declaration, and the application of the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice.
