Channel 12 poll: Likud declines, Bennett gains strongly, and Gantz falls

A poll conducted by Israel's Channel 12 paints a surprising political picture, with Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party still the largest party but falling by three seats to 24.

According to opinion polls, the Likud party is expected to win only 24 seats, making it the largest party in the Knesset, but with a narrower margin than before. Naftali Bennett, who recently began his political comeback, is showing signs of strengthening, winning 20 seats.

Other highlights from the poll include a party led by Gadi Eisenkot with 12 seats, Yisrael Beiteinu with 11 seats, and the Democratic Party led by Yair Golan with an additional 11 seats. Shas and United Torah Judaism are split in their strength – 8 and 7 seats, respectively, while Yesh Atid has only 7 seats.

Meanwhile, the Otzma Yehudit party, led by Itamar Ben-Gvir, remained with six seats, while the two Arab parties, the Arab Movement for Change and the United Arab List, each won five seats.

The Religious Zionism party, led by Smotrich, surpassed the electoral threshold by four seats. The two remaining parties outside the Knesset are Gantz's Blue and White party, with 2.9%, and Sami Abu Shahadeh's National Democratic Assembly party, with 1.9%.

Who is best suited for the prime ministership?
Benjamin Netanyahu received 39% of the vote on his eligibility to be prime minister, compared to opposition leader Lapid, who received only 21%.

Netanyahu also outperformed Benny Gantz with 37% of the vote, while the Blue and White party leader received 18%.

As for Eisenkot, Netanyahu received 36% of the vote, while the former chief of staff received 29%. Bennett, on the other hand, narrowly edged out Netanyahu, receiving 37%, compared to 35% for Netanyahu.
