China Unveils New Weapons During Large Military Parade in September

Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

It is expected that China will reveal a range of military weapons in just two weeks during a large military parade in Beijing, according to an official announcement made today, Wednesday.

This event coincides with China’s celebration on September 3rd of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the victory over Japan, which had occupied Chinese territory violently.
President Xi Jinping will attend the military display at Tiananmen Square in central Beijing. It is also anticipated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and other foreign leaders will be present.

Millions of Chinese people lost their lives during the long war against Japan in the 1930s and 1940s.
Wu Zhiqi, senior officer at the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, told journalists that the Chinese military will showcase some of its latest weapons on September 3rd, noting that they “reflect advanced forms of modern warfare.”
He added that “all weapons and equipment participating in the display have been selected from major combat systems in active service and produced domestically, with a significant portion of new equipment being revealed for the first time,” according to AFP.

He indicated that strategic weapons, bombers, fighter jets, hypersonic systems, drones, and drone countermeasures will be presented, without providing further details.

The parade, which will last approximately 70 minutes, “will fully demonstrate the strength of our armed forces in modern warfare… and our commitment to global peace.”
Ground forces will participate in formations, armored convoys, aerial units, and advanced equipment.

China announced in March a 7.2% increase in its defense budget for 2025, as part of a rapid modernization of its armed forces amid growing competition with the United States.

China possesses the second-largest military budget in the world. However, it remains significantly behind the United States.
