Doctors Without Borders: Gaza’s medical situation deteriorating, residents starving despite famine declaration

The head of the team from “Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières)” in the Gaza Strip said health conditions have reached catastrophic levels, pointing to the absence of essential medical resources and supplies amid the ongoing siege and offensive.

She said the United Nations’ declaration of famine has not translated into any change on the ground, adding: “There are no realistic expectations regarding UN steps, and civilians continue to starve.”

She added that Gaza’s health system is collapsing at a time when the urgent need for immediate, life‑saving intervention is escalating.
