Egypt’s presidency says international conference planned for Gaza reconstruction, calls for full implementation of agreement terms

The Egyptian presidency said President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed with his Cypriot counterpart developments in the Middle East, chief among them the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

President al-Sisi stressed the need for full implementation of all provisions of the agreement, emphasizing the importance of ending the fighting, releasing hostages, securing the entry of humanitarian aid, and immediately beginning the reconstruction of the Strip.

The Egyptian president also announced his country’s intention to host an international conference for early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza, calling for the agreement to be granted international legitimacy through the UN Security Council.

Al-Sisi outlined the importance of deploying international forces in the Gaza Strip as part of post-war arrangements to ensure the protection of civilians and the consolidation of stability.
