The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said that approximately 30 Palestinians are permanently or temporarily disabled every day as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, reflecting a deliberate pattern of gross harm to civilians.
The observatory explained that the number of people with disabilities increased by approximately 35% over the course of 22 months compared to what it was before the war began, noting that of the 165,000 documented casualties, 21,000 people suffered various disabilities.
He added that Israeli forces are using highly destructive munitions in densely populated areas, resulting in complex injuries and numerous amputations and disabilities, amidst the complete collapse of the health system.
He emphasized that the repeated targeting of healthcare facilities and the obstruction of ambulance operations have exacerbated the health conditions of the injured, while medical teams are forced to select only those who can be treated, leaving many others without appropriate intervention.
The Observatory also documented the arrest of dozens of people with disabilities during ground incursions, where they are being held in harsh conditions and subjected to torture, with no information about their fate.
The Observatory warned that these figures represent a dangerous indicator of the systematic perpetration of genocide against the population of the Gaza Strip.
