Data from the “Steadfast Fleet” showed that the Israeli navy intercepted 40 of 44 boats in international waters that were en route to the Gaza Strip as part of an international mission aiming to break the blockade on the territory.
The Global Steadfast Fleet on Thursday published the names of its ships that were attacked by Israel in international waters while heading to the Gaza Strip to break the blockade.
The fleet said on its X account on Thursday that 21 of the 44 ships bound for Gaza were subjected to Israeli attack.
The ships that were attacked are: Alma, Sirius, Adara, Specter, Yulara, Aurora, Utaria, Hoga, Deir Yassin, Grand Blue, Morgana, Hiu, Seoul, All In, Captain Nikos, Florida, Karma, Mohammad Bahar, Oxigono, Free Willy, and Janot 3.
Israel’s public broadcaster Kan 11 reported that Shayetet 13 naval commandos and the Israeli navy have so far taken control of more than 40 vessels belonging to the “Global Steadfast Fleet.”
It said hundreds of detained participants are currently being transported en masse to the port of Ashdod, where they are expected to arrive between 12:00 and 13:00, ahead of “voluntary deportation” procedures or legal processes that could lead to their forcible deportation to their countries of origin.
The broadcaster noted that four ships from the fleet were disabled at sea due to technical faults and engine problems, saying they would be forced to stop or be towed if they could not return or continue sailing.
It added that the army, navy and naval commandos are carrying out wide sweeping operations at sea to ensure there are no attempts by ships to approach Gaza’s coast or for activists to enter what it considers a “blockaded maritime zone.”
