Gaza Centre for Human Rights says Shaaban family massacre embodies Israeli policy of extermination against civilians

Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

The Gaza Center for Human Rights condemned the massacre carried out by Israeli forces on Friday afternoon in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood east of Gaza City, which killed 11 civilians, including seven children and two women, after striking a civilian vehicle carrying members of the Shaaban family as it was heading eastward.

The center said the targeting of the family “lacked any military necessity”, and that allegations that the vehicle approached the so-called “yellow line” do not justify deliberate killing, stressing that the incident reflects a clear approach by Israeli forces of treating civilian lives as expendable and a continued policy of genocide against Palestinians.

The center described the crime as an extension of a series of systematic violations against civilians, committed amid suspicious international silence and a disregard for accountability, calling on the international community to act urgently to ensure civilian protection, hold perpetrators of these crimes accountable, and activate mechanisms to implement the ceasefire agreement.
