Haaretz: Hamas poised to accept Trump’s plan with some modifications

Sources close to the talks in Doha said Hamas is moving toward agreeing to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip and secure the return of hostages, with some modifications.

According to sources familiar with the Doha negotiations, cited by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the movement is expected to demand guarantees from the United States and mediators for an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and to seek a clear timeline and implementation mechanism for that withdrawal.

It will also seek clarification regarding the disarmament of its forces. Sources believe that in light of the amendments Hamas will request, an agreement is unlikely to be reached in the coming days.
