Hamas announces position on Trump’s Gaza proposal

The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” announced today, in an official statement, its response to the proposal presented by U.S. President Donald Trump, which addresses a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and other issues related to the territory’s future.
The movement said it held intensive consultations in recent days within its leadership institutions, as well as wide consultations with Palestinian factions, in addition to discussions with mediators and friendly parties, in order to formulate a responsible national position that preserves the rights of the Palestinian people and its national constants, and contributes to stopping the ongoing aggression on Gaza.
Hamas confirmed in its response that it appreciates Arab, Islamic and international efforts, as well as the efforts of the U.S. president aimed at stopping the war on the Gaza Strip, exchanging prisoners, ensuring the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, and rejecting the occupation of the Strip or the displacement of its residents.
The movement announced its agreement to the release of all prisoners held by the occupying power, both living and deceased, according to the exchange formula contained in the U.S. proposal, while providing the appropriate field conditions to carry out the exchange, stressing its readiness to immediately enter negotiations through mediators to discuss the details of this file.
It also renewed its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats), to be formed by Palestinian national consensus, with Arab and Islamic support.
As for the other issues in the proposal related to the future of the Gaza Strip and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, Hamas affirmed that they will be discussed within a comprehensive Palestinian national framework, whose outcomes will be based on relevant international laws and resolutions, and indicated that it will be an active participant in this discussion with full responsibility.
