Hebrew media: Israel says assassination of ‘Abu Ubaida’ likely succeeded, awaits official intelligence confirmation
Al-Khamisa News Network - Gaza

Israeli military radio said on Sunday evening that preliminary assessments within the security apparatus indicate that the operation targeting Abu Ubaida, the military spokesman of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of Hamas – may have succeeded, while Israel awaits official intelligence confirmation in the coming hours.
According to the radio, security leaders estimate that the outcome of this operation differs from previous attempts, noting that “Abu Ubaida” had been a primary target since the outbreak of the war; Israel tried to assassinate him twice in recent months but failed.
It added that an official announcement could be issued soon if conclusive intelligence evidence confirms the success of the strike.
The reports come after a broad escalation by the Israeli army on the city of Gaza over recent days, targeting a series of sites and residential buildings believed to house senior Hamas leaders.
By contrast, no official comment has yet been issued by Hamas or the al-Qassam Brigades regarding reports in the Hebrew media.
