Israel says it has identified the body of a prisoner received from Hamas tonight

The Israeli military said it had identified the body of the captive it received from Hamas last night and that his family had been notified.
The Israeli military said that after completing identification procedures at the forensic institute in cooperation with the Israeli police, army representatives informed the family of detainee Elyahu Margalit (Churchill) that his body had been returned to Israel.
According to the army, Elyahu Margalit, 75, was taken by Hamas from Kibbutz Nir Oz.
The al-Qassam Brigades had announced that they had handed over the body of an Israeli captive last night.
In the early hours of Saturday, the Israeli military said the Red Cross had received the body of one of the hostages in Gaza.
The statement said the transfer was part of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” prisoner-exchange deal and that the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades would hand over the body of an Israeli captive recovered earlier in the Gaza Strip at 11 p.m. Gaza time.
