Israeli journalist: Hamas gains politically, Israel likened to Nazism in the eyes of the world

Israeli journalist Ben Caspit said Hamas leaders, led by Mohammed Deif and Yahya Sinwar, “are smiling broadly,” noting they never imagined that what began on Oct. 7 would lead to the reality Israel faces today.

Caspit added that Hamas took a step he described as “brilliant” this week by announcing its support for a vote on the establishment of a Palestinian state at the United Nations, with Jerusalem as its capital.

In sharp criticism of Israel’s political and diplomatic standing, Caspit said “Israel is now viewed as if it were Nazism in the eyes of most countries in the world,” adding that the concept of “total victory” in the minds of many world leaders has come to resemble the ideology of Hitler’s book “Mein Kampf,” in his words.

Caspit said this decline in Israel’s international image is a “terrible” development and reveals the extent of the growing isolation it faces.
