Palestinian killed by Israeli forces in Balata refugee camp

The Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that a young man had died of wounds sustained from Israeli gunfire in Balata camp east of the city of Nablus.

The ministry said in a statement that the young man, Mohammed Jamal Omar Madani (25), was shot in the hand with live ammunition by Israeli forces and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead of his injuries.

Israeli special forces reportedly infiltrated Balata camp in a vehicle bearing Palestinian license plates and besieged a house, while additional reinforcements stormed in, spreading through the camp’s alleys, firing shots and deploying tear gas canisters. They also arrested the young man Mujahid Khdeish after besieging his home inside the camp.
