Qatar said it will hold funerals in Doha on Thursday for the victims of an unprecedented Israeli strike that targeted Hamas officials in the Gulf state earlier this week, the Agence France-Presse reported.

Qatar’s Interior Ministry, in a statement on X, said: “The Interior Ministry announces that the funeral prayer for the victims of the Israeli strike will be held this afternoon, Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque, and they will be laid to rest in Mesaimeer cemetery.”

Israel struck Doha on Tuesday, targeting Hamas leaders. The movement said its senior officials survived, while five of its members were killed along with a member of Qatar’s security forces.

Hamas identified the dead as: Humam, the son of the movement’s senior negotiator Khalil al-Hayya; his office director Jihad Labbad; and his aides Ahmed Mamluk, Abdullah Abdul-Wahed and Moamen Hassoun.
