Qatari Prime Minister arrives in Cairo, Hamas studies Egyptian ceasefire proposal

Hamas is expected to announce its position today on the new ceasefire proposal and prisoner swap settlement.

In a related development, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with the head of Egyptian intelligence to discuss Israel's position on the new Egyptian-Israeli deal.

According to a Saudi report, Hamas is scheduled to hold a meeting in Cairo to discuss the new Egyptian ceasefire document. Palestinian factions confirmed their initial approval of the proposal, while Hamas requested a period of consultation before a final response.

Reports indicate that Hamas received a ceasefire offer from Egypt and Qatar yesterday evening, in the presence of representatives of Palestinian factions, and was asked to respond within a few hours.
