The Guardian: Five Democratic lawmakers urge Washington to act urgently to avert famine in Gaza

The Guardian reported that five Democratic U.S. senators sent a letter to Republican Senator Marco Rubio urging him to use Washington’s influence to help save Gaza’s residents from famine.

The senators called for a “massive and urgent” increase in supplies of infant formula and in food and medical assistance to the Strip, stressing that “the children of Gaza should not have to face this despair and suffering.”

They also urged the immediate reopening of all crossings into Gaza to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid and save civilian lives.
