Tony Blair backs Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza

Tony Blair on Monday praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza, in which the former British prime minister is set to play a leading role, calling it “bold and smart.”

Blair said in a statement: “President Trump has presented a bold and smart plan that, if agreed, could end the war, bring immediate relief to the Gaza Strip, offer a chance for a brighter and better future for its residents, while ensuring Israel’s absolute and ongoing security and the release of all the hostages.”

Under the plan, Blair is due to be a member of the “Peace Management Board” that will oversee the transitional phase in Gaza and will be chaired by Trump.
