Trump: War is over and a new phase begins in Gaza after historic agreement signed

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday evening that the signing of the comprehensive document at the Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit represents a “historic moment” in the process of ending the conflict in the Middle East.

Trump said in remarks after the signing: “We have achieved together what everyone said was impossible — bringing peace to the Middle East,” noting that the war in Gaza has officially ended and that humanitarian aid has begun flowing into the Strip.

The U.S. president said the “phase of rebuilding Gaza will be the hardest, but it brings hope for a better future,” expressing his thanks to the Arab and Muslim countries that helped reach this historic breakthrough.

The statement follows leaders of the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey signing a comprehensive document to end the war in Gaza and begin a new phase of stability and reconstruction.
