U.N.: Israeli army declaring Gaza City a combat zone raises grave concern

The UN human rights office voiced deep concern over the Israeli army’s declaration of Gaza City as a “highly dangerous combat zone,” warning of severe humanitarian implications for the population.

The office said the city is home to around one million people, including some besieged inside it and others with no safe place to seek refuge, amid ongoing military operations and increasing restrictions on movement and humanitarian assistance.
