Gaza: Israel hands over bodies of victims showing signs of execution, torture and burning

Gaza Strip Health Ministry Director-General Munir al-Bursh revealed signs of torture and burns on the bodies of Palestinian detainees that Israel released as part of the exchange deal and ceasefire with Hamas.

He added in a post on X, “The bodies of Gaza’s detainees were returned to us bound like animals, blindfolded, with severe signs of torture and burns revealing the extent of the crimes committed in secret.”

Al-Bursh described the visible signs of torture and burns on the bodies of Palestinian detainees as “crimes that cannot be concealed,” stating that the bodies had not been buried but were held in the occupation’s cold storage facilities for many months.

Separately, Gaza’s government media office said there are dozens of unidentified bodies among the 120 corpses received from the occupation.

It added that the occupation committed killings, field executions and systematic torture against a large number of our martyrs.

It said the bodies of some martyrs were crushed under tank treads.

It confirmed that signs of hanging and clear rope marks were documented on the necks of a number of the martyrs’ bodies, calling for the immediate formation of an independent international committee to investigate the occupation’s crimes against the martyrs.
