Osama Hamdan, a senior official in the (Hamas) movement, said Palestinian factions have submitted a proposal naming 40 people to take responsibility for administering the Gaza Strip.
Hamdan told (Al-Araby TV) that Gaza should be administered by Palestinian national figures without any Israeli interference, stressing that the movement will not accept the occupation intervening in Palestinian internal affairs.
He said the agreement approved by both sides is an agreement for a final end to the war on the Gaza Strip, not merely a temporary truce.
Hamdan added that the international community should monitor Israel’s conduct regarding implementation of the agreement to ensure its adherence to its terms.
He indicated there will be no prisoner exchanges unless an agreement is announced that ends the war completely, saying the core point of the agreement is a halt to the war on Gaza.
He said mediators provided guarantees that the occupation would not breach the agreement, and left the announcement of the ceasefire to the U.S. side.
According to Hamdan, the agreement includes the release of 250 prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 prisoners from Gaza, with the ceasefire to take effect after ratification by the Israeli government, followed by the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza City, the north, Rafah and Khan Younis.
