Israeli forces arrest Palestinians in West Bank raids, including head of Palestinian Scholars Association

At dawn on Monday, Israeli forces carried out a wide campaign of arrests and raids in several scattered areas of the occupied West Bank.
Local sources in Hebron said Israeli forces arrested the head of the Association of Palestinian Scholars, Sheikh Mustafa Shawar, after raiding his home in the city. They also detained Abdulrahman Amro during the storming of the Amro neighborhood in the Wadi al-Hariyah area, and raided a number of other homes in the same area.
In the northern West Bank, local sources reported the arrest of 25-year-old Taysir Hashash during the storming of Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, amid a heavy deployment of Israeli forces in the camp’s alleys.
In the village of al-Mughayyir northeast of Ramallah, Israeli forces carried out extensive raids and arrests, detaining Mohammad Sami Abu Aliya after storming his home. They also arrested freed prisoner Atallah Nashat Nassan, who had spent 20 months in Israeli prisons during his previous detention.
In Tulkarm, at dawn on Monday Israeli forces arrested five residents from the town of Qaffin north of the city: Bakr Suhail Ta’ma, Diya Adel Kattana, Mujahid Sakkina, Mohammad Ammar, and Mohammad Bilal, after raiding their homes and ransacking their contents.
Cities and towns across the West Bank have been subject to repeated night raids, interspersed with arrest campaigns targeting residents from various groups, amid an escalation of Israeli violations against civilians.
