At the same time, Israeli warboats opened fire at a group of fishermen off Gaza Port, while a woman was wounded after being targeted by an Israeli drone in the town of Abasan al-Jadida east of Khan Younis. Shooting also spread to the vicinity of the eastern border of the al-Maghazi camp and the town of al-Masdar in the central Strip, and east of the Shujayya neighborhood in Gaza City.
Israeli reconnaissance aircraft continued to fly intensively over the Strip, alongside intermittent artillery shelling in several areas.
Separately, the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, handed over the body of an Israeli soldier who was captured on October 7, 2023, as part of its commitments under the ceasefire agreement.
Since October 7, 2023, some 68,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 170,000 injured, while the fate of another 10,000 remains unknown, in one of the deadliest wars on the Gaza Strip.
