The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine extended its warmest congratulations to the struggling Palestinian people, to the prisoners’ movement and to the families of detainees on the occasion of the release of a new group of freedom fighters from the occupation’s prisons, including a number of the Front’s and the prisoners’ movement’s leaders, foremost among them Political Bureau member Kamil Abu Hanesh, and comrades Nader Sadaqa, Hashim Kaabi, Habis Bayoud, Hikmat Abdel-Jalil, Ahmed Al-Arda, Nabil Abu Khudair, Al-Mahdi Ramadan, Ibrahim Alqam, Ibrahim Masad and Basem Al-Khandaqji.
In a statement received by the “Safa” news agency, the Front expressed its pride in the masses of our people in the Gaza Strip, who embraced the freed prisoners with joy, pride and dignity after long months of suffering inside the occupation’s jails.
The Front said the joy remains incomplete as long as thousands of prisoners remain behind bars, and expressed its great confidence in the resistance and its ability to achieve full liberation.
It stressed that the liberation of all prisoners is a pledge from which there will be no retreat, foremost among them the Front’s secretary-general, comrade Ahmad Sa’adat, and his comrades among the leaders of the prisoners’ movement, affirming that the prisoners’ issue will remain at the forefront of the national struggle and Palestinian resistance priorities.
It also called for internationalizing the prisoners’ issue and exposing the occupation’s crimes before human rights and UN institutions, and for continuing popular and official pressure until they attain full freedom.
The Front affirmed that the struggle will continue in all its combative, political and mass forms until the prisoners’ freedom is achieved, the land is fully liberated and the Palestinian people return to their homes.
