Israel’s public broadcaster said that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will arrive in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening to prepare for the anticipated visit of U.S. President Donald Trump, as part of monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he is likely to visit Israel in the coming days and deliver a speech to the Knesset, following the agreement to release prisoners in Gaza and the ceasefire. Channel 12 in Israel reported that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and White House adviser Jared Kushner are heading to Israel on Thursday evening.
The White House had announced earlier on Wednesday that Trump might depart for the region after a period of medical checks on Friday.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that the 79-year-old Trump “will visit Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday morning for a planned meeting and to deliver remarks to the troops. While he is there, President Trump will stop to undergo his routine annual exam.”
